Inthenumericalcalculationsofpanelmethod,thetrialingwakesheetofthepropellerandductaretruncatedatcertaindistancebehindthepropellerorduct.Fig.7showsthatreasonableresultscanbeobtainedwhentransitionwakerangeofthepropelleris1080degrees.ItisfoundfromtheFig.8thatthenumericalresultbecomesconvergedgraduallywiththeincrementofregionoftrailingvortexwakeofduct,andtherewillbenoeffectonthethrustofductifthewakelengthoftheductisoverfourtimesofthelengthoftheduct,whichwillbeusedinthefollowingcalculations.Fig.9showsthatthecontractioncoefficientofthetransitionwakeofthepropeller,RW0,makesnoinfluenceonthecalculatedresults,evenRW0=0.83,0.98or1.0(“NoContra”inthefigure).RW0=0.83isadoptedinthepresentpaper.
